Hey Andy! Thank you for this powerful share. Man, I can relate right now. I was just reflecting about my life "I have never FELT better, about who I am and how I show up in the world. And, my circumstances feel worse than they have ever been and I have never been / felt more burdened in my whole adult life." ... when am I going to Get There Andy!? ugh. lol. whsew!. ... curious to see how you navigate the paradoxical polarity of being with it and moving onward and upward as well. :-)
Yeah man... I know how that feels. For me it's allowing myself to find peace in the suck, experiencing the pain, and accepting myself as I am, right where I am. A powerful place to come from is being in a mental state that accepts where you are and isn't strategizing a way to get away from what occurs as un-desirable. Finding a way to be with me, no matter what... knowing that there is no way out... well, there is, but it's path is IN, not OUT.
Absolutely. I'm on Jury Duty this week (unlikely to go in as it is 4th of July - lawyers and judges don't work on holidays). Lunch would be great. Give me some days and times that work for you. I'm a professor, so school's out for summer. Woo hoo.
Hey Tom! Thanks man. Garden is going strong... right now just cherry tomatoes and zucchini... but they are pumping! Got a hydroponic garden for lettuces... but taking a break from that for now. Dash is 17... going to be a senior at LHS next year!
Objectively our world has never been better, our lives never richer. Subjectively We have never been more unhappy. How is that possible? Thoreau said “It looks poorest when you are richest.” Thank you for this message Andy. I don’t know that there is anything more critical to our happiness than slowing down our thoughts and experiences before it’s all over, in the blink of an eye. We are so temporary. I will save your message and read over over. See you next week. Let’s have coffee after?
Thanks Flexy! I think you posted this as a reply to my latest newsletter since it has to do with slowing down? But no worries... it's HERE and that's what matters. Appreciate you, brother!
Aloha Andy! Enjoying the posts! My simple yet effective for me approach to negative thoughts is to think or say "Thankful. Thankful. Thankful". Somehow, this simple approach repels negative thoughts and keeps me in a positive mindset. Sometimes just thinking or expressing thankful three times is enough but often it takes multiple sets of three. This approach is now part of my unconscious mind's tools which automatically keeps launching Thankful 3X's to help me stay in a THRIVE mindset. Thankful. Thankful. Thankful.

I really love this one Andy and I couldn't help but read it as it was me. Thank you
Those are good choices - grow what grows.
17? Wow. Good on you. I recall Dash at my garden eating a carrot and parroting to me my words "now that's a carrot!"
Good on you my friend. I'm here for you and yours if and when you need me.
Cheers.
thank you Tom. Would love to break bread with you... or at least grab a cup-o-joe. Would you be up for that?

Trying my hardest to wrap my head around these trying times!
A wise man told me once... too much trying... not enough doing. 😂
Nice. "This is the way"
So much energy and time spent on "trying" to change things. I like your idea of it is what it is for a reason - we don't know the reason - it just is.
You still gardening? How old is Dash now? 21? Be well.
